Get to know Julianna

I have been a consultant in the NetSuite practice for 3 years. I joined Bridgepoint just after graduating from the University of Arkansas with my B.S. in Information Systems with a concentration in Enterprise Resource Planning. I have always been a problem solver and that’s what makes me tick. I was a competitive athlete for ten years in a sport that required intense teamwork along with analytical skills, and I’ve reflected many times on how that experience (weirdly) helped prepare me for a career in ERP consulting.

I was born and raised in St. Louis, MO before heading to Fayetteville. Over the past 3 years, I’ve loved being able to make Austin home!

What led you to consulting?

After my sophomore year of college, I had the opportunity to intern on a large ERP implementation project. I got to experience firsthand what it was like working with consultants and the different challenges they got to solve. I knew then that I wanted to go into a career where each day would pose new challenges. One of my goals was to experience many different types of businesses; this opportunity in consulting allowed me to do that – meeting all kinds of people in many different roles. I’m not the type of person who could do the same thing day in and day out! I was also very lucky that the University of Arkansas degree program gave me exposure to pursue the ERP space.

How would you describe the culture at Bridgepoint?

Fun! Every day I’m amazed at the group of people I get to work alongside and the willingness of the team to jump and assist each other. Pre-covid, in the office you could find our team polling each other on favorite foods or restaurants (probably causing too much of a ruckus), and five minutes later whiteboarding out a process to solve a client’s complex need. It’s so rewarding to be a part of something so successful.

What attracted you to Bridgepoint and when did you know #TeamBridgepoint was for you?

Going into my first job out of school I knew I wanted to be somewhere where I wasn’t just a number and an environment I could really grow personally and professionally. I remember getting a very warm and inviting feeling during the interview process and felt like it was a great fit. I knew #teambridgepoint was for me upon joining and realizing what a smart group of people we have. I constantly feel challenged to be better and learn something new every day.

Talk to us about who you are outside of consulting.

I love to travel and explore new places. The beach is always calling and living far away from all of my immediate family I cherish the tropical vacations we love to take. It’s also been fun to visit all of the new places friends have moved post-grad. Growing up in St. Louis, I’m a lifelong Cardinals fan, and I love college sports (Woo Pig!). On the weekends I love exploring all that there is to do in Austin, especially the food.

What advice would you give someone who is considering a career in consulting?

If you like to truly be a part of the solution this is the career for you. While the days can be long and the work sometimes daunting, you’ll have a great team to support you and train you so you’re set up for success. You also get incredible experience in consulting because we get insight into businesses and processes that other careers may never touch. It is so rewarding to see even the smallest impacts we can make through our work and to receive such positive feedback from our clients that leads to more future projects.
