CFOs Speak: Insights from Bridgepoint Consulting’s 2017 Austin CFO Survey

Austin CFOs weigh in on their evolving roles, top priorities and what’s keeping them up at night.

To gain a better understanding of the evolving role of the CFO, we recently surveyed a sampling of Austin area CFOs from a wide variety of industries and company sizes, to get a pulse on their 2017 priorities, top challenges they are facing and how they are continuing to transform their organization.

Amidst the many priorities that emerged — including overall operational improvements and efficiencies, business transactions and new technology and systems, one imperative emerged the most clearly: maintaining sustainable growth.

In fact, over 71% of our survey respondents said they consider maintaining sustainable growth their biggest challenge in 2017 and into the future. And 38% view the global economy as the biggest external risk factor that may impact the future of their organization. Additionally, compliance remains an unpopular subject for these leaders, with 43% citing regulatory compliance as the least favorite part of their role. So what else did Austin CFOs say?
