What is your hometown? Kaohsiung, Taiwan
What is your alma mater? Rice University
What are your favorite things to do outside of the office? I love to travel and going to open houses for fun!
What led you to consulting, or how has your background impacted your experience as a consultant? Or how has your background impacted your experience as a consultant? My background is in accounting, which falls under the professional services family. While I love numbers, I discovered that I am more passionate about problem solving with modern technology. I enjoy taking a problem statement, analyzing it to find the possible alternatives, and building streamlined processes. With my accounting knowledge, I speak the language of business and can better understand client’s reporting needs.
What’s a typical workday like for you, or what kind of work have you been doing recently? My typical workday consists of: requirement gathering sessions; working sessions with colleagues; designing, building, and testing solutions; and documentation. Recently, I have been working on direct bank payment integrations with Dustin. These integrations allow clients to process payments in NetSuite through the electronic bank payment module and can accommodate ACH, SEPA, BACS, and cross border wires!
What motivates you to wake up and go to work every day? Every day, I learn something new from my brilliant colleagues. NetSuite is such a powerful software that there are always new tips and tricks to learn. Waking up every day, I like to think I am playing a video game where I gain experience points with every project I work on.
How would you describe the culture at Bridgepoint? Our team embodies our hiring motto of Humble, Hungry, Smart. We’re constantly lifting each other up with compliments and recognitions, encouraged to pursue our career interests, and sharing knowledges with each other. To give an example, this year, I completed a coding bootcamp to achieve my goal of becoming a techno-functional consultant while working part time hours. Although there was no precedent, my managers supported me before and during the bootcamp and ensure I have projects that align with my career goals after my trainings. It shows that at Bridgepoint, people will care if you speak up about your goals.
What attracted you to Bridgepoint, and when did you know #TeamBridgepoint was for you? I was attracted by the comprehensive case studies on the website! I knew I want to get into technology consulting, but I confirmed #TeamBridepoint is for me after interviewing with the energetic team.
Where do you believe you deliver the most value to your client? I am a believer of Murphy’s Law: whatever can go wrong, will go wrong. This helps me think of how the system will be used and where confusions can arise. I deliver value by ensuring the directions are clear, and the clients get the smoothest user experience.
What’s your process like? The Customer Success team works with NetSuite instances that already went live. The clients usually reach out when they want process improvements. After requirement gathering sessions, I compare the client’s area of concern with the current design to determine if the usage follows the design logic before providing next steps and long-term action plans.
