Consultant Spotlight: Emma Tod

We are thrilled to highlight a Consultant within our Cloud Solutions practice, Emma Tod. Emma has been a valuable part of Bridgepoint Consulting since June 2022. Read the full interview below to learn more about Emma’s expertise, her passion for her work, and how she helps clients thrive.

What is your hometown? Dripping Springs, TX (right outside of Austin)!

What is your alma mater? University of Arkansas

What are your favorite things to do outside of the office? I love soaking up the live music scene in Austin, playing a game at a brewery with friends, and anything involving a good walk outside!

How has your background impacted your experience as a consultant? I had the unique opportunity to study Enterprise Resource Planning systems in college, which piqued my interest in how companies could leverage these tools to optimize their processes. Throughout any job that I worked in college (even waitressing) and early in my career, I found that I was drawn to the way that systems were interconnected and how they could serve our teams better. This revelation is what led me to pursuing a career in consulting and finding Bridgepoint. I couldn’t be happier!

What’s a typical workday like for you? I typically like to start my morning by listening to some music, prioritizing my tasks for the day, checking my emails, and prepping for any upcoming meetings. I love using a journal to think through things, track my random thoughts and managing my workday! The rest of the day typically consists of meetings and completing any action items in-between.

What motivates you to wake up and go to work every day? I love the relationships you build with your clients. There is nothing better than sharing the mutual goal of a successful project while also getting to collaborate and meet new people in different industries and cities. The mutual responsibility to work hard for your team is what keeps me going every day!

What kind of work have you been doing?  My day-to-day focus has primarily been on end-to-end implementations and optimization projects within the products space. Outside of my client work, I try to help my peers where I can, work on learning new technical skills, and participate in internal initiatives. Additionally, I work with our Culture Club throughout the year, organizing events and engagements for our Austin office to attend!

Where did you deliver the most value to your client? During my time at Bridgepoint, I have had the opportunity to lead several core business process workstreams for multiple project implementations. I particularly love problem solving, working on assessments, and any tough questions! Looking at something from all angles, breaking apart a process, and ultimately discovering a solution is one of my favorite parts of the job.

Linking data to finance and accounting, explain environments that have had lack of reporting infrastructure/inefficiencies and how have you brought organization and solutions-implementation. There are a lot of different reasons that a client will request our services. In many cases, they may have outgrown their old system, or they have been acquired and need to be rolled into a new NetSuite instance. These are overwhelming scenarios for any business. As we make these transitions, I try to encourage our clients to look at their current data structure and evaluate where we can find areas to restructure or create a more streamlined process and system. Ultimately, reducing inefficiency for their future business endeavors.

What’s your process like? When assigned to a client, I try to learn all that I can by reviewing their sales cycle notes and performing my own independent research. Once the project kicks off, we prepare a list of topics and questions to discuss with the client and analyze what the requirements for their NetSuite instance may be. Once we have our plan developed, we continuously meet with the client, showing off our hard work and ensuring that our progress meets the needs of their business. Once our configuration tasks have been completed, we lead our clients through training sessions to ensure they are set up for a successful go-live! After our client is live and off to the races, I will typically meet with them daily as they get comfortable with their new system.
