Hi, I’m Rob, and I work as a Director in Bridgepoint’s NetSuite Consulting practice in Austin. I’m proud to say that I’ve been a member of #teambridgepoint for five years!

What I do at Bridgepoint…

Here at Bridgepoint, I get to work with an incredible team of consultants to deliver transformative NetSuite ERP solutions for our clients. Whether it’s an end-to-end implementation, optimization of a client’s existing NetSuite environment, or integration between NetSuite and another application, I get to help our clients grow through the implementation of systems and solutions.

How I got my role at Bridgepoint…

Funny enough, my relationship with Bridgepoint started when I was a client. While working at a manufacturing and distribution company in Dallas, we hired Bridgepoint to support our NetSuite implementation project. During this project, I got to experience first-hand the value Bridgepoint brought to an engagement and built some excellent working relationships with the team. Eventually, I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to join the Bridgepoint team when my family and I decided to relocate to Austin.

How my morning routine starts…

Whenever possible, I like to start my mornings with an early swim. There’s no better way to jump-start the day like diving into a cold pool at 6 am! After that, I consume a cup (or two) of coffee while reviewing my calendar, shooting out initial email communications, and getting a plan of attack in place for the day.

A typical working day for me may consist of…

The great thing about my role is that there truly is no such thing as a “typical day.” Every day presents a unique set of challenges and opportunities to work with interesting clients. My daily activities consist of architecting solutions to meet complex client requirements, speaking to prospective clients about the value of the NetSuite application, and also sharing best practices. I also enjoy spending time collaborating with our team to ensure they have the tools and support to deliver the best results to our clients.

Something people don’t know about my role is…

Being a consultant is as much about asking the right questions, as it is about providing the answers. Working with clients to understand their challenges, frame the problem, and gain alignment on a set of clearly defined goals is an essential first step in delivering a successful outcome.

My proudest moment at Bridgepoint was…

There is nothing more gratifying than helping a client go live on a new system. These projects are challenging, impactful, and depend on the coordinated involvement and support of many people. When a project comes together, and you see a team take ownership of a new process and start to experience the benefits of the new system, it is exciting.

The thing I like most about working at Bridgepoint is…

Without a doubt, the best thing about working at Bridgepoint is the people. I get to work with an incredibly dynamic, smart group of people every day to solve complex problems for our clients. Our team focuses on collaboration, and there is not a day that goes by where I don’t learn something new.

On the weekend, you’ll find me…

I like to get outside and enjoy the many perks about living in the city of Austin. When I’m not on the sidelines screaming at my kid’s soccer games, I like to mountain bike, wakeboard, and try to squeeze in some live music whenever possible. My oldest son has recently taken an interest in fishing, which I have enjoyed. I have fond memories of fishing with my dad and grandpa as a kid, and to be able to share those experiences with my son has been a lot of fun.

If I weren’t doing this as a career, I’d be…

I’ve always enjoyed the many challenges that come with operating a “product-based” company, especially when they are in the earlier emerging stages. Everything from the product development and go-to-market strategy, building a culture and brand that aligns with a great customer experience and establishing an efficient and scalable supply chain to support the growth of the business. So, if I weren’t consulting, I’d like to think I’d be operating an emerging product company.  Of course, if that were the case, I’d undoubtedly hire Bridgepoint to help!

The best career or leadership advice I’ve ever received was…

It’s important that you never stop learning. No matter how much experience you develop, it is essential to approach each day with a genuine curiosity. Ask questions, try new things, explore opportunities to learn. Make a conscious effort to step outside of your comfort zone and see what you learn!
